Bio Building Block offers smart modular solutions that are safe and easy to assemble
Bio Building Block, BBB, proposes a disruption in the building industry: building through the use of a brick made of wood and metal bars, capable of creating solid structures in a particularly efficient and economical way. Telling us how this product is able to take Co2 out of the environment is the founder, Marco Citro.
BBB was born from a personal experience of the founder, Marco Citro, when in 1980, Irpinia was hit by an earthquake that he survived. This event prompted him to commit his life to the search for a solution that could make buildings increasingly reliable and able to avert and prevent damage from natural catastrophic events.
And that is exactly how the idea of making a brick constructed of wood and steel bar, composed inside of natural materials such as wood chips, sheep and rock wool, cork and others that can be obtained through recycling with a view to a circular economy.
The brick, which is covered by an international patent that has already been approved in Europe and America, enables safe and effective construction, creating a true reinforced wood wall that provides flexibility and structural strength particularly against even major seismic events, as well as various natural cataclysms such as tornadoes or hurricanes.
But that's not all: during the various experimental phases, initiated to obtain certification, all the bricks showed superior characteristics compared to today's normal constructions. In fact, the material differs in how quickly it can be built without the use of waste, because the bricks can be customized to accommodate conduits or electrical outlets directly at the design stage, thus defining in advance the placement of each brick within the project itself, optimizing both time and cost.
Innovation is important, but the environment is even more so for BBB: each brick is able to guarantee the subtraction of about 10 kg of CO2 to the environment. In fact, for example, in a 100m2 house, 24 tons of CO2 can be subtracted. BBB cares about sustainability and is constantly striving to cut down its environmental impact as much as possible, and this was recognized in 2022, when during the Innovation Excellence Award program they were honored nationwide.
With the patent obtained enabling it to face all international markets, BBB is currently looking for partnerships willing to share and support the project, implementing the foreign commercialization phase.
To date, the company has four patents, two of which have already been approved for green building and digital, and the other two dedicated to green technology. Rely on BBB's capabilities for innovative construction today and a smart home in the future.
